The pole must be installed underneath a main structural beam in a plasterboard ceiling, or anywhere underneath a concrete ceiling. It can be installed on any floor type, including carpet, tiles, concrete and timber.
How does The Pussycat Pole attach to the ceiling?
We offer our customers two ceiling mount options to choose from when ordering.
What is the difference between an Internal Jack and an External Jack?

How Adjustable is The Pussycat Pole?
The
Pussycat Pole is individually cut to suit your ceiling height. Our aim
is to create a perfect fitting pole, with minimal jack exposed, to
increase your poles strength, safety, and usable dance area. The
Pussycat Pole has approximately 120mm of extension in the jack.
Can The Pussycat Pole be re-sized to suit different ceiling heights?
Yes. The Pussycat Pole's unique designs allow you to enjoy the superior strength of a one-piece pole, with the option of re-skinning the pole at a later date, to suit a different ceiling height.
What is the difference between the Dawn and the Junior dance pole?
The design of both poles is similar, however the bottom pad used is different for each pole. The Dawn's bottom pad is made from industrial strength poly-vinyl plastic - a commonly used bottom base for dance poles in Australia, and also around the world. The Junior, however, utilizes The Pussycat Pole's custom made, machined aluminium base - superior in strength and durability...and it's more attractive!
About Dance Poles Features
Pole Skins - which one should you choose?
Stainless Steel Pole Skins
Stainless Steel is the most widely used, considered the 'industry standard' type of pole skin. Stainless Steel comes in a variety of finishes, including satin, polished, and mirrored. All stainless steel poles from The Pussycat Pole have a mirror finish - it's the best for grip! The greatest thing about stainless steel pole skins is that the surface lasts forever, the gripping factor gets better the more you dance on it, and it's the most commonly used pole skin world wide.
Brass Pole Skins
If you have pole danced before, you will know how important your gripping ability becomes when you are trying to master tricks and transitions. Due to its fantastic absorbent qualities, brass pole skins offer the dancer the ultimate grip - you can get no better! All brass dance poles from The Pussycat Pole are hand polished, genuine brass - no coatings! The greatest benefit of brass pole skins is they allow you to perfect your tricks quicker, with better form, and more confidence, as you spend less time worrying about slipping.
Pole Skin Diameters - which once should you choose?
50.8mm pole diameter is the 'industry standard', it's our top selling diameter, and it is most widely used in pole fitness classes all over the world. This diameter caters to all body types, all styles of pole dancing, and, if you can do your tricks on this diameter, you can do them on all diameters.
44.45mm pole diameter is becoming more popular, as it offers the best of both worlds - easier to wrap your hands around compared to a 50.8mm, but also has a good surface area, which helps when doing tricks such as sitting and climbing on the pole.
38.1mm pole diameter is popular, often for girls with small hands, or who those who like to be able to wrap their whole hand around the diameter, for a more confident grip. This small diameter is most commonly made with brass pole skins, as the combination offers a great gripping platform. It is important to note, however, that smaller diameter pole skins have less surface area, so climbing and sitting on the pole does take a bit more work at the start... and possibly a bit more Chinese burn!
Still not sure which pole diameter to choose? We always advise our customers to get the industry standard diameter - 50.8mm, or if your taking pole dancing classes, go with the diameter you currently dance on.
Pole Skin Mode - which one should you choose?
Stationary dance poles are the most popular, especially for pole fitness, and you will find most pole dancing schools across Australia teach on stationary dance poles. Especially for beginners, perfecting a trick is easier when you have total control over your spinning speed, which is sometimes hard on a spinning pole. Stationary poles also have the benefit of giving you an added cardio workout, as extra body force is needed to create a spin.
Spinning dance poles have bearings in either end, to allow the pole skin to spin freely. These dance poles are popular for intermediate to advanced pole dancers, and also the dancer who likes to concentrate on looking good! Because the pole skin spins for you, you have more time to work on your form, and you can remain spinning at a certain level on the pole, (rather than descending). Spinners are great for performance pole dancing, and offer you the ability to bring a new dimension to your pole dancing experience.
